Yugioh: Dealing With Power Creep

In Yugioh there seems to always be the problem that new
archetypes are much more powerful than old archetypes. Usually there isn't many ways that an old deck can compete with a newer one, this may be due to old decks becoming too slow or maybe their play style is counteracted by the newer archetypes. So is there a way to make these archetypes usable again ? I believe that alot of old decks can be used but it depends alot on the format were in.
For example if everyone started using Qliphoths which is very likely, using Evilswarm would be a good idea because it prevents them from summoning their high level monsters, also Evilswarm is good against Shaddoll. So using an older archetype that can counter a new one is a viable strategy, but can they be used in other ways? Yes, there are 2 ways for this to happen.

1. If six samurai got their gate back then power creep wouldn't be an issue, sometimes power creep is only amplified by the banlist.

2. Include anti meta tech, for example if all the top tier decks were swarm decks use something like needle ceiling to counter them, if control decks rule the format use cards such as trap stun and ways of getting rid of the few monsters they put on the field, if they focus on stopping traps, use monster effects to get rid of their monsters.

But everything seems to float so how would I keep up with the card advantage the new archetypes maintain?

This is probably the hardest to deal with and only a select few older decks can get around this issue and the only way for other decks to deal with this is to either save resources to get rid of boss monsters or to use cards that prevent your opponent from  maintaining card advantage such as using banisher of radians (although this really isn't a good solution in most decks)

So the truth is card advantage is the key issue, not play style and it is this card advantage that makes it almost impossible to keep up.

The only feasible way to deal with power creep is to counter the play style or hope that the cards you need come off the banlist.
